London – Prosesor ITS pada komputer ini 1.000 kali lebih lambat dari prosesor Ipad Apple. Namun, komputer paling pertama Apple ini terjual 425 kali harga iPad.
Pada Selasa, Apple I (model ini hanya dibuat 200 unit) terjual di rumah lelang Christie di London Tengah seharga 133.250 pounds (Rp 1,9 miliar). Komputer ini dijual dalam paket asli beserta surat resmi penjualan dari Steve Jobs, salah satu pendiri sekaligus CEO Apple.
Ketika diproduksi pada 1976, Apple I merupakan satu-satunya PC yang menggunakan motherboard rakitan. Hal ini membuat PC ini dapat digunakan langsung dari kotaknya lengkap dengan keyboard, power supply, dan layar, kata Christie.

Dulu, PC ini dijual seharga US$ 666,66 (Rp 6 juta), dan produksinya dihentikan pada 1977. Pelelangan Apple I terjadi sangat cepat, pengusaha Italia sekaligus kolektor Marco Boglione membuat penawarannya melalui sambungan telepon.
Adik Marco, Fransesco Boglione, yang menghadiri lelang secara langsung mengatakan pembelian komputer itu merupakan bukti cinta kakaknya pada komputer, seperti dikutip dari Straits Times.
“Pertama kali saya mendengar PC, saya mendengarnya dari Marco,” kata Fransesco. “Ia membelinya karena ia mencintai komputer.”[ito]
